Summer camps 2026
The summer camps are a holiday activity for children from 2nd to 7th grade.
We would like to offer children who do not have the opportunity to travel during the school holidays a safe, meaningful, and positive holiday experience. It is also possible to apply for a place for children who have a particular need for a get away from their local environment for a period. Summer camps are free of charge.
Information - Summer Camps
Children 2nd-4th grade (born 2016-2018)
The summer camps for children in 2nd-4th grade are organized by Aktivt Pusterom. They are well experienced with providing varied and quality leisure activities for children. The youngest children participating in the summer camp will stay at Kvamskogen. There will be excursions to places such as Jondalen. Activities at the camp will include outdoor playing and games, farm visits, fishing, swimming, music activities, climbing, and much more.
Camp periods:
Week 27: Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 3
Week 28: Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10
Week 31: Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31
Children 5th-7th grade (born 2013-2015)
The summer camps for children in 5th-7th grade are organized by Bømlo Folkehøgskule. The children travel to Bømlo and stay at the residential school for the entire camp period. During the camp period, there will be full day themes, excursions, swimming, canoeing, and more. The camp leaders are students with varied experience who will do their utmost to create good holiday memories.

Camp period: Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 10
Who can participate in the summer camp?
Important: You must ensure that the child meets the requirements to attend the summer camp.
- The child must have a residential address in Bergen.
- The child does not have any other holiday travels.
- The child speaks Norwegian or English.
- The child will have to manage to share a room with other children.
- The camp leaders sleep in private rooms near the children.
- The leaders at the summer camps are young people/students without specific professional skills. They are not professionally trained and cannot provide health-related assistance.
- It is not possible to get one-on-one supervision at the summer camp.
- It is a condition that relatives or parents stay in Bergen while the camps are ongoing, in case the child becomes ill or unhappy and needs to be sent home.
- The summer camps are mobile-free, meaning the children have limited access to phones while the camps are ongoing.
